    Official funeral planned for former Legislator Mr. Prince Stoutt

    Roadtown, Tortola - The official funeral of former Legislator Mr. Prince Stoutt will be held on Saturday, November 8 at the Road Town Methodist Church.

     

     

     

     

    A procession will leave from the House of Assembly Building at 8:30 a.m. along Fishlock Road, and turn right on to Flemming Street and turn left on to Main Street to the Road Town Methodist Church.

    Viewing at the church will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Cane Garden Bay Burial Ground.

     

    The body will lie in state at the House of Assembly Building from 10:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. on Friday, November 7. During this time, the general public will have an opportunity to pay their last respects.

     

    Mr. Stoutt died at Peebles Hospital on October 29 at 87 years. He was first elected to the Legislative Council in 1977 as the member for the second electoral district and was re-elected in 1979 and in 1990. .  During his tenure, Mr. Stoutt focussed on infrastructural development, particularly the roads in his district and he also helped in providing homes for the needy.

     

    The Government of the Virgin Islands (UK) joins the family and friends of the late     Mr. Prince Stoutt in mourning the passing of a true architect of the Territory.  ~~Adz:Right~~
