BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A juvenile is reported to have departed this life earlier today (Apr. 12) after sustaining injuries that resulted from his failed attempt at embarking a motor vehicle in St. Paul’s yesterday.

The information surrounding the circumstances of the incident remains sketchy. However, this publication was informed that sometime yesterday afternoon, a “boy” attempted to board a moving truck when he fell and sustained serious injuries to his right leg.

He was reportedly transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

Press and Public Relations Officer of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force – Inspector Lyndon David – confirmed that the incident did take place and the juvenile has since died.

He said the lad is 12 years old and that the incident occurred at approximately 1:52 p.m.

The Inspector indicated that there isn’t much more information he could offer at this time and informed that the police are conducting investigations into the incident.

He also stated that an autopsy is expected to be conducted on the lad’s remains.
