BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – WANTED man Raymond Pemberton continues to stay one step ahead of the police who are trying to track him down.
On mid-morning Thursday (Apr. 18) this media house had observed a detachment from the Police and Defence Forces combing areas in New Road and Lower Monkey Hill, but no information was forthcoming on the reason for their presence
A police press release yesterday (Apr. 19) however confirmed the belief that the lawmen were hunting for Pemberton, also known as Ras and Attai, who has been on the run since Sunday (Apr. 7).
The release stated, “…based on a tip through Crime Stoppers, a joint Police and Defence Force Team mounted an operation in the New Road and Lower Monkey Hill areas for Raymond Pemberton who is wanted for Attempted Murder. Pemberton however, managed to escape and remains at large. He is considered armed and dangerous and must not be approached, instead contact the nearest police station, and continue to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477(TIPS).”
The police, to date, have not provided any information on the person he attempted to murder. But SKNVibes was told that the victim is a female with whom the 43-year-old man had a relationship and he allegedly inflicted several chops on her body, including one of her hands, with a machete.
It was also learnt that he was seen in Lower Monkey Hill earlier this week.
The police have given Pemberton’s last address as Carty Alley, Newtown and that he is of dark complexion, weight 180 pounds, 5’ 7” tall and sports twisted dreadlocks.
