Text Top Up craze in SKN!!

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FOLLOWING the recent change of the company’s brand, Cable and Wireless, now known as LIME, has launched a new initiative which is spreading like ‘wildfire’ throughout St. Kitts and Nevis.
The new service, Text Top Up, which is the most recent joint initiative with SKNVibes, allows users to top-up phones from their mobile phones and eliminates the need from going to a vendor or online to obtain credit.
This has made adding credit to LIME mobile phones not only convenient but also very user-friendly. It has been officially launched today (Nov. 7) with a Double Bubble Special for two days and has seen a positive response.
Registration to the new service is free and anyone can register up to three prepaid LIME phone numbers under their account. Once registered, customers can get their next top-up in a matter of seconds. The two simple steps allow the service to be user-friendly: text <your number> then a <space> then the <TopUp Amount> to 333. To top-up a friend’s phone, text <friend’s number> then a <space> then the <TopUp Amount> to 333.
The main number on the account will receive text message alerts each time a transaction is done from another number on the account and all card details are encrypted for security and confidentiality.
Chief Financial Officer of SKNVibes Stachio Williams informed that the initiative was simply done to provide more convenience to customers by taking advantage of the advancement of technology. He added that the new service is the easiest way to top-up and opines that it is much more convenient and user-friendly than the traditional ways of getting credit.
He further stated that customers could do it themselves, and anyone from anywhere at any time, using a LIME mobile phone, could use the service. He said the response has been extremely tremendous and that customers are “crazy over the new idea”.
Hundreds of frantic fans raced into LIME and SKNVibes offices to register to be able to enjoy the new service. One overwhelmed customer said, “Thank God somebody came up with this idea. Before, we had to go by a store to top-up if we don’t have a computer, but now we could use our own phones. Thank God for SKNVibes. I was waiting for something like this long time ago.”
Excited with the new initiative, another customer stated, “At first, I wasn’t too sure about it. I doubted because it involves using my bank card which I was very sceptical about. But, this thing is so easy; no problems at all! I called the office and the staff there walked me through it step by step. Now I could handle this, I will take advantage of it.”
CFO Williams indicated that there will be many more similar mobile-type services coming in the near future to provide continued convenience and mobile accessibility.
