BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, April 25th 2013 – Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas and the Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Vance Amory met at the Office of the Prime Minister, Church Street, Basseterre on Thursday 25th April.
The Prime Minister’s delegation comprised of Deputy Prime Minister, the Hon. Dr. Earl Asim Martin; Deputy Financial Secretary, Mrs. Sylvia Manning-Gumbs; Comptroller of Customs, Mr. Rodney Harris; Deputy Comptroller, Mr. Georid Belle and Comptroller of Inland Revenue, Mr. Edward Gift.
Premier Amory was accompanied by Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Laurie Lawrence and Treasurer, Mr. Colin Dore.
The meeting discussed several financial issues including the NIA-implemented International Monetary Fund (IMF) Structural Adjustment Programme, the Debt Restructuing Arrangement initiated by the Federal Government and the Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation (SIDF).
