Music Festival local acts revealed in phase one Roster Roll-out last night

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - SEVEN national acts slated to perform on the upcoming 17th annual St. Kitts Music Festival were last night (Apr. 26) unveiled to the public.

     

    The acts are Small Axe Band, Grand Masters Band, Nu Vybes Band International, Kore Band (from sister isle Nevis), Hip-Hop artiste Dagah and uprising R&B artiste 16-year-old Dejour and Charles Emanuel.

     

    This announcement was made by Chairperson of the St. Kitts Music Festival’s Local Marketing Committee, Kirah Griffin during the Committee's-organised 'Jump Off'’ event held in the Independence Square.

     

    Representatives of the bands and artistes in attendance were presented cheques.

     

    Additionally, the acts affixed their signatures on contract which sealed their confirmation of participation on the annual three-nightly extravaganza.

     

    This year’s festival is slated to take place from Thursday, June 27 to Saturday, June 29 at the Warner Park Stadium.

     

    The local bands are set to perform on Thursday night while the others would perform on Friday night.

     

    Artistes and representatives who participated in the contract signing and cheque acceptance during that specific segment are Charles Emanuel; Dagah; managers of the Small Axe Band, Gregory Warner and Gary Thomas; member of the Nu Vybes Band International Jason 'KT' Jacobs; and manager of the Kore Band Quincy Prentice.

     

    Leading up to the unveiling of the local acts, Griffin shared that it was "phase one" of the Music Festival line-up announcement plans.

     

    “I would like to introduce you to phase one of the Music Festival launch for the artistes who are going to be on the festival….So tonight we’re going to introduce to you the local acts,” she said.

     

    As gathered by this media house, the regional and international acts would be released in the phase two launch, which is scheduled for next Wednesday (May. 1).
