BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - PRIMARY schools on St. Kitts and Nevis will be engaged in the first ever WICB/Scotia Bank Kiddy Cricket Festival Finals next month, following a competitive and exciting preliminary round of matches held in February 2013.

The Cricket Festival Finals for primary schools on Nevis will be held at the Elquemedo Willet Park on Friday (May 3), starting at 10:30 a.m. with an official opening ceremony while those on sister isle St. Kitts will be held on Friday (May 10) at the Lime Ground, starting at 10:30 a.m. also with an opening ceremony.

The WICB/Scotia Bank Kiddy Cricket Primary Schools Festival will bring together the top eight schools on both islands to display cricketing skills developed through the programme.

The Festival also seeks to give the participants an opportunity to compete amongst their peers in a competitive but fun environment, build exposure and cultivate sportsmanship.

The eight participating primary schools from St. Kitts are Beach Allen, Tucker Clarke, St. Paul’s, Dieppe Bay, Estridge, Joshua Obadiah Williams, Tyrell William and Bronte Welsh, while Charlestown, Gingerland, St. James, St. John’s, Combermere, Ivor Walters, St. Thomas’ and Bellevue will perform in Nevis.
