BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AFTER many months of waiting, the public is anxious to know the identity of regional and internationals acts that would be performing on the upcoming 17th Annual St. Kitts Music Festival.
Well, tomorrow (May. 1) is the big day for this entertainment news!
The unveiling of the overseas acts is scheduled to take place tomorrow morning (May. 1) at a press conference hosted by the St. Kitts Tourism Authority at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort in Frigate Bay.
The revelation, dubbed ‘Phase Two of the Music Festival launch for the artistes’, follows closely on the heels of last Friday night’s (Apr. 26) announcement of the national acts made public during a ‘Jump Off’ event organised by the St. Kitts Music Festival’s Local Marketing Committee at the Independence Square.
The local acts are Small Axe Band, Grand Masters Band, Nu Vybes Band International, Kore Band (from sister isle Nevis), Dagah and Dejour and Charles Emanuel.
Last Friday, representatives of the bands and artistes in attendance were presented cheques and also affixed their signatures on contracts which sealed their confirmation of participation.
The local bands are set to perform on Thursday night while the others would perform on Friday night.
This year’s Festival is scheduled to take place from Thursday, June 27 to Saturday, June 29 at the Warner Park Stadium.
At tomorrow’s event, both the media and public anticipate that there would be special call-ins from at least one of the regional or international acts to be announced, since such over the years have become a major highlight.
