PM Douglas to meet nationals in Manchester, Birmingham and Central London

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, April 30th,  2013 (CUOPM) - Nationals residing in Manchester, Birmingham and Central London in England, get an opportunity to hear first-hand from St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas this week.
 
The Prime Minister who is in Europe where he attended an international meeting will meet with nationals on his way home this weekend.
 
The first stop is in Manchester tomorrow Wednesday 1st May where Dr. Douglas and nationals will meet at The Whalley Range Methodist Church. That meeting begins at 6:30 pm.
 
Dr. Douglas will meet with nationals in Birmingham on Thursday 2nd May at the Birmingham Community Association on Jenkins Road. The meeting also starts at 6:30 pm.
 
The third and final meeting on this visit will be on Friday 3rd May also at 6:30 pm at the Kingfisher Community Centre on Crest Road, Neasden.
 
Prime Minister Douglas will use the opportunity of presence at the meetings to update nationals from the twin-island Federation and other Caribbean friends on how the impact of the international economic and financial crisis is affecting the nation, highlight the challenges faced and the decisions taken to reduce the national debt as well as discuss the achievements tourism, healthcare, public utilities, agriculture, housing, manufacturing, sports, culture and social development.
 
Recently similar meetings with nationals were held in Slough and Leeds, England and Toronto, Canada.
 
The governing St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party has always included nationals in the Diaspora in the decision making and shaping of policies aimed at enhancing the quality of life.
 
The Prime Minister and other Ministers of the Cabinet have always made it a priority to meet with Kittitians and Nevisians as well as national associations in town-hall style meetings when visiting the various capitals on official business.
