Press Release

New York: American Music Award winning singer Tyrese, Guinwine and Tank, who collectively are members of R&B supergroup TGT will join reggae stars Toots Hibbert & the Maytals, Cocoa Tea, Barrington Levy and Queen Ifrica as headline acts for the 3rd annual Groovin In The Park concert which unfolds at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens New York on Sunday, June 30th 2013.

“Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank as members of TGT and as solo performers have graced some of the biggest festivals in world and we are just excited that we were able to book them for our festival and present them to music fans here in the tri-state area” Groovin Inc. founder and CEO Christopher Roberts said.

The three successful R&B singers have been best friends for more than a decade. In fact Tyrese was the best man at Ginuwine's wedding. In an interview, Tyrese noted that he Ginuwine and Tank had spoken about forming TGT for many years, as it would be the "ultimate R&B fan experience" to see them perform live.

“Me, Tank and Ginuwine been talking about this forever. The reason why this makes sense is that besides all of us being R&B singers, we're all good friends. Every time I see Tank, every time I see Ginuwine, we all had good energy regardless" he gushed.

Tyrese, an accomplished rapper, actor, author, fashion model and MTV VJ gained international attention in 1994 after he appeared in a Coca-Cola ad. After releasing several successful albums, he transitioned into films, with lead roles in several Hollywood blockbusters including '2 Fast 2 Furious,' 'Waist Deep' and 'Transformers.' Among his biggest hit songs that will have female fans screaming for more are 'Latel,' 'How U Gonna Act Like That,' 'Sweet Lady,' 'Alter Ego' and 'On Top Of Me.'

Soul Train Award winner Ginuwine has proven himself to be one of R&B's pre-eminent idols during the heyday of hip-hop soul. His sultry, seductive crooning has earned him a substantial female following and made him a regular presence on the R&B charts over the years. His powerful vocals have graced some of the biggest songs of our time including 'All Night All Day,' 'Bedda Man,' 'Differences' and 'G. Thang.'

Grammy nominated singer Tank has a hefty catalogue of hit songs dating back to his 2001 release 'Maybe I Deserve' that climbed to the number #7 position on the US R&B charts. Tank has one of the most recognizable names in modern R&B and is known for his sensual love songs, that harp back to masters like Marvin Gaye and Al Green. Among his popular songs that will have the ladies calling his name are 'Freaky,' 'Slowly,' 'One Man,' 'Come Over' (with Aaliyah), 'Please Don't Go,' 'I Can't Make You Love Me' and 'Emergency.'
