BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – LESS than two weeks after the Federation recorded its 18th murder, it has had to grapple with the loss of yet another life to unbridled violence.
Another of the Federation’s young men was gunned down in cold blood last night (Nov. 11) at about 9:30, pushing the country’s murder rate to levels it has never seen.
According to information received by this media house from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis’ Press and Public Relations Office, 23-year-old Omar ‘Mega’ Stancliffe of Wigley Avenue was approached and attacked by two masked individuals in an alley located in the vicinity of Millionaire Street.
Further information is that after being shot, the young man sought refuge in a house where he collapsed and succumbed to his injuries.
SKNVibes has endeavoured to ascertain the number of times he was shot but that information was not forthcoming. However, this media house learnt that he sustained a gunshot wound to his chest.
The District Medial Officer (DMO) for the area, who was called to the scene, pronounced the man dead and, according to the police Force’s Press and Public Relations Office, workers of the Jenkins Funeral Home removed the body from the scene.
While rumours surrounding the incident abound, the motive for the killing has not yet been ascertained and police have informed that no one has been held in connection with the incident. ~~Adz:Right~~
