BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - CLOCKING over two hours of a wide variety of music genres, dubs from popular artistes and with hyped emcee energy, the internationally recognised Coppershot sound system from Jamaica definitely gave patrons a rocking good time at ‘Twisted Desires’, which ended shortly before 7:00 a.m. yesterday (May 6) at Club Kactus in Bird Rock.

Two out of the nine members of Coppershot, selector Ash and emcee Hustler starred at the event which was organised by Europe Fridayz Promotion and Twisted Entertainment.

SKNVibes understands that the other members of Coppershot are in Europe, where the group is currently on tour.

At about 3:43 a.m., Coppershot opened its performance with some selections by popular Rastafarian Reggae artiste Sizzla, playing hits such as ‘Rise To the Ocassion and ‘Dry Cry’.

“Cruise we a cruise!” the emcee said during the early minutes of warming up the partygoers.

Other hit songs which followed included ‘African Queen’ by Marlon Asha, ‘Affairs of the Heart’ by Damian Marley, ‘Where have you Been’ by Rihanna, ‘Let’s Go to the Beach’ by Nicki Minaj and ‘I Got A Feeling’ by The Black Eyed Peas.

As many people would know, a number of top-rated artistes have great respect for Coppershot sound system.

Some of the dubs blasted through the club were from‘Nah Go a Jail Again’ by Busy Signal, ‘Get Gyal Easy by Popcaan and ‘Gyal a Bubble’ by Konshens.

While Coppershot was on the inside of the club rocking partygoers, Nu Vybes Band International (De Sugar Band) on the outdoor stage pumped up its fans and music lovers with songs like ‘Oxygen’, ‘Apple Bottom Gyal’ and ‘Where My Dogs At’.

The band and Coppershot brought an explosive end to ‘Twisted Desires’

From around midnight,  DJ Shaggy, who was first up, kept the early party vibes 'jiggy' in warming up patrons to a diverse blend of music for over an hour in what turned out to be an exciting event.

Mixclusive Sound was next to perform, but a power outage that lasted from about 1:58 a.m. to 2:06 a.m. interrupted the performances of Kollison Band and Mixclusive which began playing around the same time.

The outage affected the technical sound setup on the outside stage and also inside the club.

Kollision Band did songs like ‘Ride Up’, ‘Armed and Dangerous’ and ‘Hustle’.

Soon after the technical hiccup was rectified, Mixclusive got back to satisfying partygoers for over an hour while Kollision Band got back in its grove later before De Sugar Band.

Following was Sweet Sister Sensia who played for more than an hour. A big highlight of her segment was dub from ‘One Drop’ by Tarrus Riley, which the audience loved.

Sensia, who is known to like presenting the ladies in the ‘dance’, played a number of tunes to which the female patrons ‘wilded out’.

The dancing energy of the males slowed down during that moment, as if to give the females some time to shine.

SKNVibes observed that security was to the max with the presence of over five uniformed personnel from Alpha and Omega Security.
