~~Adz:Left~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – RESIDENTS of Constituency #7 have organised a week of activities in honour of their Parliamentary Representative, the Honourable Dr. Timothy Harris for the “sterling service” he has provided them over his 15 years in office.

The week is scheduled to begin on Saturday, November 15, 2008 and ends on Saturday, November 22, 2008.

In an exclusive interview with SKNVibes, Lenworth Harris, Chairperson of the Constituency Planning Committee, which is the group organising the week of activities, explained that various activities have been held in the past for the Minister but never at the scale at which this one would be.

“Fifteen years of service is laudable and, as such, the week should really reflect that. You can’t just play lip service to the sterling service which he has given to his constituency and the country on a whole. You have to properly reflect on what he had done.”

The Committee Chairman noted that a great portion of the activities for the week would focus on recognition of contributions made by senior citizens to the community. Another focal point of the week, he explained, would be giving back to the community, which he said is what Dr. Harris is about.

The week begins on Saturday (Nov 15) with a Constituency #7 Basketball Knockout Competition scheduled to be held at Molineux at 6:00 p.m., which would be followed by a Thanks Giving Service at the New Testament Church of God in Tabernacle. The Service begins at 10:00 a.m. Later that afternoon, at about 3:00, a Cricket Festival will be held in Mansion.

On Monday at 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday at 7:00 p.m., a Service to honour senior citizens and a town hall meeting will be held respectively. The former will be held at the Miracle Temple Church, Lodge Village and the latter at the Violet Petty Primary School

The presentation of the Constituency 7 Scholarship Award to be held at the Edgar T. Primary School is scheduled for Wednesday morning at 9:00 while a “Grand Public Rally” is scheduled to take place at Ottleys on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 6:00 in the evening.

Friday November 21 is the day designated for an Open House to be held at the Constituency Office in Mansion Village. Persons wishing to visit the officer are advised that it opens from 6:00 p.m.

The week concludes on Saturday, November 22 with an Anniversary Service at Molyneux Seventh Day Adventist Church, which begins at 9:00 a.m., and with a “lime” on the Molineaux Hard Court which begins at 6:00 p.m.

In an address he gave during Tuesday’s sitting of the House of Parliament, Dr. Harris expressed, “I look forward to further service to the people. Standing up for them…Being their best advocate and friend.”
