Dominica News Online - Saturday, May 11th, 2013 -- Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, has married his long time sweetheart, Melissa Poponne.
The two exchanged vows at the Bourne Roman Catholic Church on Saturday afternoon, a brief statement from the Office of the Prime Minister revealed.
The ceremony was followed by a private reception at the Skerrit’s private residence in Vieille Case. According to the statement. the two are expected to leave Dominica on Sunday “for a brief period.”
Speculation swirled all week as news of the impending nuptials began surfacing on Facebook. Some speculated that the marriage was going to take place in Dominica while others said it was going to be overseas.
However, the prime minister or those close to him remained tight-lipped on the entire matter.
