Basseterre, St.Kitts (PAM Communications Unit):- St.Kitts-Nevis main opposition party Leader the Hon. Shawn K. Richards has called on his constituents to defend their territory . This call was made at a massive public meeting of the People’s Action Movement in Sandy Point on Thursday evening.
The Hon. Richard’s emphatically stated, “ They bringing all kinda people from outside of Sandy Point(Fig Tree) to register. I just got the list for last month a young man by the name of Livingstone Mills from Newtown Ground, I will make his picture as well as the picture of all the others from outside of Sandy Point who have registered here….the month before there was a Gary Anthony Webster , a Vashma Tishari Mason , and a Kerissa Martin all registered in Sandy Point but live in Constituency 6 between St.Pauls and or Newton Ground…..Tonight I am sending the message loud and clear to these and other persons who have registered in Sandy Point where they do not live DO NOT COME TO SANDY POINT TO VOTE! And I am telling the young men of this Constituency DEFEND YOUR TERRITORY !”
The 2 time parliamentary representative also went on to expose a number of persons who have been registered for some time and may have even voted in the last election who have never lived in the constituency and who Richards is warning not to come from St.Pauls and vote again.
Richards said “ And apart from those who have just recently registered you have persons like Ian Jules, Gaston Dixon, Sandra “BABY” Francis, Zefton Francis and Tarik Bradshaw and others must all get a clear message that nobody from outside this constituency will come here and decide your representative….DEFEND YOUR TERRITORY !”
The People’s Action Movement have filed several objections to many of these illegal registrations and registrants, particularly in Const #4 where scores of persons have been objected to since prior to the 2010 election, and the matters have yet to be heard.
The law states that persons must be registered where they live. Individuals who have registered where they have NEVER lived are registered illegally .
