CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - SHORTLY after the guilty verdict of Warrington Phillip murder trial was announced on Friday evening, a masked man attacked, robbed and injured popular beautician Sherry Gajor at her salon, Sherry’s Beauty World, in Solomon’s Arcade, Charlestown, Nevis.

Police in Charlestown have since confirmed that a man is in custody assisting with investigation into the matter.

Speaking with Gajor yesterday (Nov. 15) from her family home in Government Road, SKNVibes learnt that the beautician, in the company of her son and a young lady, was in the process of closing her business for the day when she was attacked from the rear by a lone male.

“I stepped out and turned to put the key into the door. Suddenly a person came and grabbed me from the back. I naturally fought back…there were kicks to my face. I fell down by the grass near the door and the kicks on my face continued,” she said

Gajor fought with her attacker but was unable to stop him from making good his escape with her handbag which contained the day’s earnings, credit cards and many other valuables.

Gajor’s son and the young lady did not sustain any injury during the violent attack and robbery. However, the young lady managed to run away from the scene to seek help, but the beautician succeeded before her by calling the police from the phone in her salon.

It was revealed to this media house that the young lady had provided a clear description of the attacker and the clothes he wore, which might have led to the police having an individual in custody.

The young entrepreneur told SKNVibes that she stands for very long hours working with dedication to earn her income and is calling on the police to increase their patrol in the Charlestown area.

Friends and relatives who visited Gajor to offer their sympathy expressed concern that an attacker would be that brave to rob and assault someone, in spite of the large crowd and heavy police presence, as people were making their way from the vicinity of the High Court.
