BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE have revealed the identity of the young lady who was discovered dead sometime last evening (May 20) and have provided information on Jamal Isles’ murder.

A communiqué emanating from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) this morning identifies the young woman as 18-year-old Chazere Davis of Taylor’s Pasture, Nevis.

The release explains that “there were no external visible signs of how she died during the initial observation by police”. However, a post mortem would be conducted this morning in order to determine the cause of death.

Unconfirmed reports which reached this publication suggested that Davis might have lost her life at the hands of an individual with whom she was last seen, and that he had allegedly strangled her before making an attempt to end his own life.

Informed sources told this media house that a family member, who, on returning home, had discovered the motionless body and had summoned a doctor.

Sources added that following the discovery, the police were notified and they went in search of the individual with whom she was last seen. However, his home was secured and the police had to remove a door to gain entrance.

On entering the home, sources claimed, police found the individual in his bathroom in a pool of blood and a wound to his neck.

According to the police press release, a 52-year-old man is in the Alexandra Hospital nursing wounds which appear to be self-inflicted.

“Hospitalised this morning is Kelvin Williams who allegedly was the last known person to be in her presence when alive. Mr. Williams was found by police at his residence in a semi-conscious state with what appeared to be self-inflicted wounds to the body.”

Concerning Jamal Isles’ murder, the police confirmed that the 21-year-old was killed at his residence. It further indicates that the 21-year-old was shot by “two men” who then “left (him) for dead”.

It is alleged that the two men had knocked on the door of Isles’ Fountain Village home claiming to be police officers and shot him after he opened it.

THE RSCNPF has made an appeal to members of the public who have information “surrounding these incidents to call Nevis Police at (869) 469 5254 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 anonymously and free of charge. Remember you may qualify for a reward”.
