ROADTOWN Tortola BVI, May 24th, 2013   --  Nagico Insurances is pleased to announce a new partnership with the BVI Cricket Association (BVICA) in support of domestic cricket.

The BVICA is currently staging the Digicel Twenty/20 Cricket Tournament at the Greenland Recreation Grounds. As part of the sponsorship package, at the end of every week, Nagico will provide a cap to the leading batsman and bowler in the tournament which will allow fans to clearly identify the top performers on the field.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Nagico will also provide a cash bonus of $500.00 each to the leading run scorer and wicket taker for the entire tournament.

"This is a unique and exciting dimension being added to the cricket tournament here in the Virgin Islands. It’s an incentive for batsmen and bowlers to perform at their very best," said Mr. Mohamed, who is also the Managing Director for Century Insurance Agency.

Two weeks into the tournament, Virgin Gorda’s Derol Redhead was the first recipient of the Nagico cap for his impressive knock of 187 not out made against Lucas United on May 5th. He beamed with excitement as he received his cap from Mr. Mohamed.

It was the highest individual score made in an official BVICA-sanctioned Twenty/20 match in the BVI. Redhead, who opens the batting for Virgin Gorda, displayed powerful stroke play that realized 15 fours and 19 sixes to propel Virgin Gorda to an easy victory.

"It's a very small field so we have to try and get the runs in the first five overs. You have to play positive and pick the right shot and runs will flow," Mr. Redhead stated.

Mr. Mohamed encouraged others to put their best performance forward every week.

"We at the BVICA level want fans to enjoy the best talent that we have to offer here in the BVI through sturdy performances from all our players. We certainly want to encourage every player to aim for the cash reward that Nagico is offering," Mr. Mohamed stated.

The leading bowler will be capped on Sunday, May 26.

Nagico continually supports cricket in the BVI through direct sponsorship and pledges more support in keeping the sport alive for future generations.
