Water Department worker falls off pickup in traffic accident

By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AN employee of the Water Department was rushed to the Joseph N. France General Hospital (JNF) early Friday morning (May 24) after he fell from a motor pickup that was involved in an accident at Cedar Grove, St. Peters.

Reports reaching SKNVibes indicate that Kevin Finley is the individual who was flung from the vehicle during the impact.

Further reports reaching this publication suggest that the incident occurred at approximately 7:45 that morning between motor jeep P1699, owned and driven by Naria Cumberbatch of Cedar Grove, and a government vehicle attached to the Water Department P1818 which was being driven by Mervin Finley.

The circumstances, as this media house understands, are that P1818 was heading in a western direction towards the mountain while P1699 came from a bi-road in the northern direction and collided with the right rear of P1818.

In the process, Finley, who was one of two passengers travelling in the cargo bed of the vehicle, fell from there. The other individual was identified as Adolphus Brandy.

Another individual, Leon Crawford of Temple Alley, was reportedly travelling in the front passenger seat of P1818 when the incident occurred.

SKNVibes understands that Finley was transported to JNF having suffered head injuries

Officers of the St. Peters Police Station are making investigations into the incident.
