Charlestown Nevis (June 8, 2005) Nevis Director of Research and Development in the Ministry of Tourism, Ms Elmeader Brookes says that Mrs. Ena Harvey, representative for the International Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) who is based in Barbados is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the 2005 Tourism Awards Banquet.
The ceremony which is scheduled to take place on June 17th at the Four Seasons Resort, will see Mrs. Harvey delivering on the topic Establishing Linkages between Tourism and Agriculture.
According to Ms. Brookes, the Ministry of Tourism will present awards to deserving individuals and organizations for their contributions towards the development of tourism on the island.
She pointed out that there were a total of twenty-five nominations and from that list; twelve individuals were chosen to receive awards.
Weve looked at the entire spectrum of the tourist industry, so we include corporate citizens, the hotel management, hotel employees, taxi operators and allied services, she told the Government Information Services. We would be presenting some very special awards to some deserving individuals who could not necessary qualify under the categories that we have listed before, she added.
