BASETERRE, St. Kitts – GENERALLY speaking, it is widely known that Kittitians tend put a lot of thought into their wardrobe when it comes to attending certain party events…and such applies for both men and women on the island.
Similarly, as with other ‘big’ dances held in the past, it was definitely like a fashion show at DJ Flames’ Gemini Bash staged at Ma Pau on Port Zante on Saturday (May 25), which also included a Dancehall Queen Competition.
And the ratio was something like…10 women to three men at the event.
The make-up of the stylish outfits saw a lot of females wearing bright coloured flats, wedge heels and fashionable boots, short dresses of various styles as well as short and high waist pants, cropped shirts and stripped dresses.
Long-strap purses complementing one’s shoes were a common fashion trend!
The ladies came out wearing a variety of hairstyles which consisted of twisted and styles dreadlocks, braided extensions and weaves of different lengths, colour and cuts and even curls.
Additionally, some females had a hair dye colour that popped their ‘do’. Nearly all of women dolled up their faces with make-up of mostly mascara, pink or red lipstick, fake eyelashes and face powder.
And, oh yes, for many, their manicures and lovely-looking nail art were on point!
Noticeably, most of the men kept it casual sporting jeans and T-shirts, while others dressed up a little bit more fancy in their button up shirts ‘dress pants’ and ‘hard’ shoes.
All in all, when attending an event, looking great is a big deal for many. And apart from going out in numbers to patronise an event, a lot of these partygoers deserve a thumbs up and five star rating for looking so fashionable when they step out.
