By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – INFORMATION reaching SKNVibes indicates that Sheldon ‘Sword’ Cannonier was killed execution-style by masked men who were driven to Lime Kiln to carry out the sinister act.

Cannonier was shot to death shortly after 12 noon yesterday while on his way home with his girlfriend and their child following their attendance of a service at The Rivers of Living Water Christian Center in Lime Kiln.

According to eyewitness account, two vehicles and two masked men were involved in Cannonier’s death.

On condition of anonymity, the eyewitness said, “I was walking out from church, and as I walked up the road I saw two cars pulled up. One was blocking the young man’s passage and two fellows exited the other. They had on masks.

“They first fired two shots and when he fell down they went over him and continued shooting. After they finished shooting both cars sped away and the guys ran into the bushes on the eastern side.”

When asked, on telephone, if they had recorded the registration number of the vehicles and were willing to pass such information to the police, the eyewitness answered in the negative to both questions and noted that “with what’s happening in this country one has to think about one's safety. Therefore, I have nothing to say to the police for fear of my life”.

This publication learned that Cannonier was also shot to the head and was pronounced dead on the scene by the District Medical Officer.

A police press release stated that investigations are being conducted by the Violent Crime Unit and “anyone who has information pertaining to this incident is asked to call the Violent Crime Unit at 465-2241, Ext. 230 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477. Remember your information will be confidential and you may be eligible to receive a reward”.
