BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – DELPHIC Newtown United football team humiliated their counterparts from Cayon with a nine goal drubbing at the Newtown Playfield last evening (June 5) in the Elvis Star Browne Women's League.
Newtown got off to a fast start opening the scoring in the 9th minute through Tracy Willock before Katelyn Forbes in the 25th minute doubled the advantage.
A penalty scored by Lavern Francis gave Newtown a 3-0 lead just before half time.
A barrage of goals came in the second half from the Newtown girls with Cayon failing to create any meaningful opportunity or troubling Newtown’s defence.
Newtown however continued their dominance with Acima Eddy who found the nets in the 47th and 79th minutes, while Shandor Wilkinson goal came in the 57th minute. Tracy Willock scored for a second time in the 55th minute and Shermer Johnson netted twice in the 60th and 82nd minutes.
A Yellow Card was given to Isis Richards of Cayon in the 44th minute.
Delphic Newtown now leads the Elvis Star Browne Women's League with its closest rival being Conaree Lady Spartans.
