National Bank becomes a Founding Member of the ACF

~~Adz:Left~~ Basseterre, St. Kitts - November 15, 2008 marked the official launch of a trailblazing undertaking within St Kitts and Nevis, the establishment of the Advancement of Children’s Foundation. The ceremony took place at Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park and was witnessed by a cross section of corporate sponsors and private individuals. Representatives from National Bank attended to show support for this nation-building initiative.

According to Leah Sahely, Chair and Co-Founder of the organisation, the Advancement of Children’s Foundation was set up with the vision to counteract the trend of rising violence and antisocial behavior amongst our youths through the promotion of good parenting, family and social values. The Foundation will collaborate with other sectors and key stakeholders of the community to target parents and children at every level to promote primarily the welfare of the family unit and, by extension, the welfare of our society.

The Rotary Clubs of St Kitts and Liamuiga invited National Bank to partner on this venture with the cognisance that National has always been acknowledged and commended for its work within the communities that it serves, as well as for giving of its time, wisdom and resources to worthwhile endeavours. The future of this country depends on the future of our children and as such, National was privileged to become a founding member of this organisation. The time to make a difference is now and National Bank is ready to be apart of any initiative which is driven to bring about viable and sustainable positive change amongst our society’s youth.
