                                        Royal St. Kitts Hotel celebrates a remarkable year

    The revamped website for the All-Inclusive Royal St. Kitts Hotel & Casino celebrates a milestone this month;
    www.royalstkittshotel.com went live on Thursday, November 15, 2007.

    It showcases the refurbished 282-room Royal St. Kitts Hotel & Casino (formerly known as Jack Tar Village) as well as the people and culture of St. Kitts in all their splendour, marketing not only the beautiful 18-acre hotel property but the pristine Caribbean destination that’s on the cusp of becoming a household name.

    Royal St. Kitts’ website www.royalstkittshotel.com was developed by local company SKNVibes.com.  The website is conceptualized, managed and written in-house at Royal St. Kitts Hotel & Casino.

    “I am extremely impressed with this attractive and compelling website,” Robert Kelly, Director of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority’s New York Office, wrote in an e-mail to Royal St. Kitts Hotel & Casino back in January, adding that, “A picture certainly tells a thousand words!  Royal St. Kitts has never looked so good.”

    On Monday, January 28, Royal St. Kitts Hotel & Casino changed the name of the “News” section on www.royalstkittshotel.com to “Media,” reflecting the addition of multimedia elements, such as video, to complement company press releases and news stories on St. Kitts-Nevis.

    Royal St. Kitts’ website also employs the use of a ticker or scrolling text at the top of the Home Page to inform visitors of current promotions, such as the Christmas & Carnival Celebration Package.  This package allows guests to stay for 7 nights and pay for only 6 nights, while they “lime” and dance in the streets and enjoy Carnival time.  Plus, as is customary at Royal St. Kitts Hotel & Casino, kids 12 and under stay, play and eat for free; up to three kids per traveling family.

    Another unique aspect of www.royalstkittshotel.com is its use of the word “lime,” a local colloquialism for hanging out and enjoying life.  Throughout the website, “lime” is incorporated into pithy slogans like “…to old times and new ‘limes.’”  This alludes to the remarkable history of Royal St. Kitts whose stone was laid in November 1973 by Premier of St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla, the Honourable Robert L. Bradshaw, marking the start of hotel development in Frigate Bay.  Royal St. Kitts Hotel opened in May 1976 and for more than 20 years the property garnered success as Jack Tar Village.

    Less than one year after re-opening as the new, amenity-rich Royal St. Kitts Hotel & Casino, the Hotel won the Most Creative Business Award at the St. Kitts Tourism Authority’s 2008-09 Tourism Awards on Saturday, November 1.
