BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - FOR the second time in five years, Itecia Dore will have her name and photograph on the Wall of Fame at Kajola Kristada as she was named the winner of the company's April 2013 Employee of the Month.
Speaking with the Connector's Line worker, she recalled her first win being in February of the very first year the Employee of the Month initiative was introduced, which was some five years ago.
The Cayon resident told this publication that the announcement of her win came as a shock to her as she had absolutely no idea she would have won again, because it was not an award she was working towards receiving.
Dore describes herself as an individual who usually works hard and goes above and beyond the call of duty when necessary.
She expressed that although she did not expect to win the award again, she "feels good" that she did, as it shows the company's appreciation towards her dedication to the job.
Kajola's Employee of the Month Award has been in effect for five years and was birthed as a means of expressing appreciation towards employees for their efforts, hard work and dedication as the General Manager, José Rosa, is said to be instrumental in making sure that the employees are recognised and duly awarded.
The company’s Employee of the Month process of selection is based on a number of factors, including efficiency, attendance, quality, safety, friendliness, and versatility.
Each Supervisor would select a worker from their department who they view as deserving of the award and the management body would come together and make a final decision at who the winner would be.
Each month, one admirable employee is rewarded with a certificate and their photograph would be added to a wall which displays past winners.
Dore stated that she views this win as an encouragement for her to push harder in an effort to capture the title a third time.
