BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – KURTLYN CANNONIER, a 13-year-old from Carty Alley, Newtown who was reported missing this morning (Jun. 16), checked in at the Basseterre Police Station shortly after the report was made.

SKNVibes had received official confirmation of the missing person’s report via a telephone call by the original sender of the BlackBerry and Whatsapp message, Woman Constable Powell of the Special Victims Unit of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.

At about 9:46 a.m., SKNVibes contacted Powell to find out whether or not reports of the girl being found were true.

Powell indicated she was informed that the teen, at that time, “was on her way to see me” but could not provide an update at the time until she was “physically in my presence”.

A few hours after, an update was provided, which informed that Cannonier was “found in good health and was handed over in the care and custody of her parents”.

The public was thanked for its assistance.

“Commissioner of Police Mr. CG Walwyn takes this opportunity on behalf of the parents and family, Gazetted Police Officers and the Special Victims Unit to thank all those persons who were instrumental in locating Kurtlyn Cannonier.”

Reportedly, Cannonier was last seen on Saturday (Jun. 15) at about 2:30 p.m. when she left home to go to the Dome at The St. Kitts Marriot Resort for a sporting event. However, she never reached the place.

Police said investigation into her disappearance and whereabouts would continue.
