BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - FREE tickets, bags and top up compliments LIME were the dished out goodies that created much excitement over yesterday’s (Jun. 15) islandwide motorcade organised by the St. Kitts Music Festival Promotions Committee.

Shortly before 8:00 last night (Jun. 15), Fort Street, Basseterre was the final stop.

And, of course, the four Promotional Models of the upcoming 17th annual St. Kitts Music Festival slated for June 27-29 were onboard the party truck along with the Promotions Committee’s Chairperson, Kirah Griffin, and other members of the Committee.

The General Manager of ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation, Clement O'Garro was also a part of the motorcade and hosted live call-in radio updates.

Popular TV personality Pinocchio from ZIZ TV’s People’s Show was also present.

Music was provided by DJ Kool, who played a wide selection of music from this year’s slated acts, including Nu Vybes Band International, Kollision Band, Small Axe Band, Grand Masters Band, Kore Band, Konshens, Beres Hammond and Shaggy.

The first stop was in Cayon and it was there that the first giveaway was made after villagers were quizzed.  Persons 16 years and older were eligible to partake in the on-the-road contests.

Media ‘face’ on the Promotions Committee Markysa O’Loughlin gave some electrifying hype as she quizzed and interacted with the public.

Winners of Music Festival tickets got the opportunity to choose the night they wish to attend.

A fifth form student of Cayon High School, Shekola Wilson,   correctly answered “2007” for a question that asked of what year the Cayon Pantastics first performed on the St. Kitts Music Festival.

Wilson picked Friday night to see Konshens.

The next stop was in Molineux and the tour crew was increased by some boys on bicycles who joined the motorcade and took it to another level. They followed the motorcade as far as Dieppe Bay performing tricks and stunts along the way.

Another set of boys on bicycles had joined the fun at Parson’s Village and journeyed all the way to Basseterre.

In another highlight in Mansion Village, Janine Harris-Lake, who was busy behind the grill at a sideway cookout, took time to run to the microphone to give the names of four past Music Festival Chairpersons.

Her effort was not in vain and she won a Friday night ticket to see Beres Hammond.

In St. Paul’s Village, during the stop  there with Konshens’ popular ‘Bubble Gyal Bubble’ song blazing, the villagers were asked to ‘buss’ the dance.

While some shied away, Nickel Jules gyrated her buttocks in fashion to the song which went well with the onlookers. The excited Nu Vybes Band International fan indicated that she wished to attend the Thursday night to “jump up” to her band.

Earlier, Jules won a bag for correctly listing the names of the Promotional Models.

Additionally, jamming to the “buss de chain” lyrics of the Nu Vybes Band International’s ‘Way ma Dawgz at’, saw another resident of St. Paul’s, George Francis, winning a top up.

Other winners included Shavron Grant from Molineux (top up), Plim in Ottley’s (Music Festival branded bag), Ketron Harvey from Saddlers (top up), Angel Cranstoun from Dieppe Bay (Friday night ticket) and Kwahne Wharton from Old Road (Friday night ticket).

A Family Fun Day, also organised by the Promotions Committee, was held t the LIME’s Ground at Needsmust which ended late last night.

An islandwide Motorcade was also done in the sister isle Nevis on Saturday (Jun. 8).
