BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - SPRINT legend Kim Collins will be inducted into the Texas Christian University (TCU) Letterman’s Hall of Fame along with six other former athletes who had attended the learning institution .
The 37-year-old 2003 100m World Champion had attended the institution between 1999 and 2001 and became one of its top sprinters.
Collins has won seven World Championship medals (five outdoor and two indoor) along with three NCAA Titles and a Commonwealth Championship, as well as being a three-time CAC Champion.
He competed for the TCU Horned Frogs and received six All-America honours.
Collins won his three NCAA Championships in his final season in the indoor 60 and 200-meter events and the outdoor 4x100-meter relay. He is one of only three Frogs ever to claim more than one national title.
The Kittitian remains one of the world’s top sprinters in his almost two-decade long career.
A report from star-telegram.com states that Collins, Wilson Groseclose, Paul Robinson, Bo Schobel, Bobby Stewart and Stevanie Wadsworth Ferguson would be honoured in a ceremony and banquet at TCU’s Brown-Lupton University Union on October 10.
Collins (2000-01) became one of the school’s top sprinters. The three-time NCAA champion holds school records in the indoor 60 meters (6:53 seconds) and outdoor 200 meters (20:08).
