BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – ONCE again Cayon is in the news as officers at the Cayon Police Station were investigating reports of gunshots being fired last evening (Jun. 21) in Hermitage Village, Lower Cayon.
Reports state that at approximately 9:00 p.m. the sounds of gunfire were heard in Hermitage Village, and this was confirmed by Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David.
David however informed that no one was reported injured.
Only recently Commissioner of Police Celvin ‘CG’ Walwyn had branded Cayon a “hotspot” because of the rise in gun-related crime in that community.
Because of that, the Commissioner held a meeting with the residents and urged them to cooperate with the police and to report any criminal activity to the law enforcement body in an effort to get the community back into a state of normalcy.
