Bahamas named in Israeli drug smuggling ring

NASSAU, Bahamas – THE BAHAMAS has been named in what is being called the biggest drug bust ever in Israel.
According to Caribbean 360, Israeli lawmen reported breaking up a smuggling ring involving The Bahamas, Peru and Spain. One-and-a-half tonnes of cocaine worth US$500M were found.

The statement issued by officials did not enlighten as to how much of the illegal drug was found in the Caribbean country and the extent of the island’s participation in the ring.

 ~~Adz:Right~~According to Israeli police, drugs were hidden inside industrial machinery and then shipped in containers from Latin America to Europe and the Middle East.

The contraband was reportedly seized between October 5 and November 15 as the result of a joint investigation executed by Israeli authorities and various European and South American police forces.

A Peruvian welder who concealed the drugs and the head of a cargo company who arranged the drugs’ transport have been arrested.

Ten Israelis have been arrested and one more is still wanted abroad.
