Grenada’s New National Party (NNP)

A call for the Minister of Youth to provide his evidence

~~Adz:Left~~Thursday, November 27th, 2008: The New National Party is calling on the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Hon. Patrick Simmons to urgently provide the evidence he claims to have which indicates that the New National Party and the former Minister for Youth planted persons in strategic positions to disrupt a meeting he held with the IMANI trainees last Thursday.

The Minister claimed that the New National Party held a meeting prior to his meeting to discuss the logistics relating to the plot and is the reason for the disruption.  However the Youth Minister admitted on a national programme, that the trainees became disruptive after he, became agitated and shouted at a trainee who had asked him a question.

The New National Party therefore calls on the Minister of Youth to apply better anger management and conflict resolution skills when dealing with the nation’s young people.  The NNP believes that if the minister had not started to react in the way he did, the trainees may have behaved differently. The New National Party is also encouraging young people not to retaliate when conflict arises as this can lead to greater problems.
