BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A warrant of arrest has been issued by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) for a young man who is suspected to have murdered Sheldon ‘Sword’ Cannonier.
The RSCNPF issued a press release today (June 29) informing the public that a “warrant in the first instance” has been issued for Kemo Flemming of Trafalgar Village.
The brief communique indicates that Flemming “is considered to be armed and extremely dangerous and should not be approached by the general public”.
As a course of action which members of the public should take if they see Flemming or know of his whereabouts, the police have suggested that that information could be communicated to the nearest police station or the Crime Stoppers Hotline (1-800-8477) may be called and information can be anonymously relayed.
Cannonier was gunned down in cold blood on Sunday June 2, 2013 shortly after he had exited a church service as the Rivers of Living Water Christian Center, Lime Kiln.
The 31-year-old was approached by gunmen who fired upon him striking him several times. He died on the scene.
Three other individuals have been arrested and charged with his murder.
Little over two weeks ago, the police informed that Sylvester ‘Syl’ Crossley of Fort Thomas Road, Basseterre, Shane Amory of New Road Housing and Vance Thomas of Fort Thomas Road, Basseterre were arrested, charged and remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
