BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE four females for whom the public voted to become Promotional Models of the 17th Annual St. Kitts Music Festival were allegedly fired on the eve of the extravaganza.
The models, Samantha Wilson, Te-shell Sutton, Scoticia Hendrickson and Clilia Davis, were elected from a field of six beautiful and intelligent young women from St. Kitts and Nevis.
Notably, the promotional models aspect of the St. Kitts Music Festival was launched in 2011 by the Local Marketing Committee with the aim of promoting the annual event.
SKNVibes learnt that 40 days after their selection and one day prior to the start of the three-night show, the models were fired for allegedly inappropriate behaviour.
This allegation was however deemed untrue by one of the models who, under condition of anonymity, claimed that “the Committee is dutty”.
When contacted for her perspective on the issue, Chairperson of the St. Kitts Music Festival Local Marketing Committee, Kirah Griffin said, “No comment.”
The four models were launched publicly on Friday, May 17 during a second ‘Jump Off’ event held in Nevis.
On Saturday, May 11, a Photo ‘Like’ Contest was launched on the Music Festival’s Facebook page in an effort to add to the selection process of this year festivity’s ambassadors.
Six contestants were chosen following a Casting Call held in April at the Sweet Lime Restaurant on Port Zante.
Following their selection, the four beauties were engaged in various promotional activities including two separate Island Tour Motorcade on both St. Kitts and Nevis, a Beach Bash warm up in Dieppe Bay and a Beer Fest on the Frigate Bay lawn.
