BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – NOT all of the employees can boast of winning Kajola Kristada’s Employee of the Month award, and even fewer are those who can boast of winning it twice.
Meet Thelma Richardson, the 13-year Final Assembly Line worker of Kajola Kristada who is the company’s May 2013 Employee of the Month.
The mother of a 17-year-old female recently spoke to SKNVibes about her award and expressed that just as she had a “wonderful feeling” when she first won the title some years ago, the feeling this time around is identical.
“It is a wonderful and lovely feeling. My supervisor came and told me that I won it and it was a really good feeling for me. All I could have done was smile.”
Of course, Richardson has already shared the great news with her daughter who exclaimed, “Again!” with obvious jubilation and pride in her mother.
Richardson said she counts this achievement as encouragement for herself, her co-workers and especially her daughter.
“I would tell my co-workers who have not yet won or who are hoping to win a second time to work hard and always do your best work, because you can achieve anything that you want to achieve.
“My daughter is proud of me and it is an encouragement for her to strive for excellence in all she does, just like her mother does.”
Richardson’ supervisor Juliette Fenton also spoke to SKNVibes about her charge’s achievement.
“I was given the responsibility to give her the good news that she had won, and it was a wonderful feeling for me to do that. Every month I put in her name for the award, but although it didn’t happen sooner, I decided I would not take out her name because she always does her best. She does excellent work and I appreciate her. Everything you put her to do, she does her best. Even if she doesn’t make her target, she gets very, very close to it. I am proud of her!”

Attendance, knowledge of the job, punctuality, attire, quality of work and versatility are some of the criteria on which persons are judged. And the candidate that comes closest to meeting each criterion is given the accolade.
