BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - KITTITIAN sprinter Antoine Adams placed second in a tightly contested 100-metre race in Canada at the Edmonton International Track Classic on Saturday (Jun. 29).
Following a personal best performance at the National Invitational and Club Championships which saw a close encounter between he and Jason Rogers, Adams was involved in yet another dead-heat finish, this time falling short of victory to place second behind Rakieem Salaam of the United States.
Saleem got the victory in 10.00 seconds, the same time as Adams. Jeff Demps of the US was third in 10.02 seconds.
Jason Rogers also participated in the race and ran in fourth in a time of 10.09 seconds.
And on the following day, Kim Collins recovered from a slow start to earn third place after he was beaten following a late surge from eventual winner Nesta Carter of Jamaica and second placed James Dasaolu of Great Britain.
Carter’s winning time was 9.99 seconds while Dasaolu attained 10.03 and Collins 10.06 seconds.
