CFBC Press Release

By: CFBC, Press Release

BASSETERRE St. Kitts, July 2nd, 2013   --  The two-day Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) Strategic Planning Retreat concluded on Thursday June 27, 2013.  During the two-day session, various focus groups comprising the CFBC Board of Governors, senior management, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and stakeholders from other colleges/universities, feeder schools, businesses and the media shared their perceptions with regard to the current status of CFBC and the way forward for the institution.

To guide the process, each focus group was asked to respond to a number of key questions including: what does CFBC do well, what does CFBC need to improve, what excites you about CFBC, and what frightens you about CFBC.  Their responses will be the foundation for the drafting of the 2014-2019 CFBC Strategic Plan, the instrument that will guide CFBC’s daily actions, map where it is going, determine where it wants to be, and ensure that the College arrives at its desired destination.

The final order of business was the creation of the Planning Task Force (PTF), mandated to review all of the data and information gathered from the focus groups, identify common themes, develop five or six planning assumptions and guide the development of concept papers for each area of focus.  The PTF will comprise 7 members of the CFBC senior management team including the President, Vice President for Student and Academic Affairs, Registrar and Bursar, 4 members of the teaching faculty and 3 members of staff, as well as 3 representatives from each of the other groups of stakeholders.

The Retreat was facilitated by Dr. Haldane Davies and Dr. Wendy Coram of the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI).  Dr. Davies is Special Assistant to the President and Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment and the UVI Foundation.  Dr. Coram is Director of Institutional Leadership and Effectiveness and is also assigned to the Centre for the Study of Spirituality and Professionalism.

September 30, 2013 is the deadline for completion of the initial draft of the 2014-2019 CFBC Strategic Plan.
