Press Release

BRADES, Montserrat (July 1, 2013) – In its continued efforts to improve efficiency and service through the use of technology, the Government of Montserrat’s Treasury announced recently that it would shortly begin processing payments electronically to its customers.

Already, most civil servants receive salary payments direct to their bank accounts. Now, the government aims to pay businesses in the same manner.

According to Accountant General Vanessa White, customers who provide a valid email address to the Treasury Department will be “immediately informed when the payment is made and the communication will also serve to provide all of the necessary details relating to the payment, to allow for a full reconciliation of the disbursement.”

Companies that do business with the government are therefore asked to provide the following banking details to the Treasury Office or by email to tsydept@gov.ms: Vendor Name, Vendor Bank, Account Number, Email Address and their signature.

For more information on the process contact the Treasury Department at 664-491-2454.
