BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FORMER President of the St. Kitts-Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) Peter Jenkins has congratulated Anthony Johnson on his success as being re-elected President of the Association.

In an interview with SKNVibes following the Elections, Jenkins not only congratulated Johnson but also wished him success during his tenure.

“I would like to congratulate Mr. Johnson. The member clubs spoke and they elected him for another four years, and I hope that all of the associations will work towards making sure that his term is successful.”

When asked if he would assist Johnson during the next four years, Jenkins said, “I don’t want to get in Mr. Johnson’s way, so you have to give him the opportunity to formulate his own ideas.”

Jenkins added that he was satisfied with the campaign he undertook, as he sought a return to the SKNFA’s Presidency.

On Sunday, Johnson collected 15 of the 26 votes to defeat Jenkins who gained seven and Franklyn Maitland who got four.

Jenkins spent five terms in office as President of the SKNFA.

THE Anthony Johnson-led ‘Putting Players First’ team made a clean sweep of the St. Kitts-Nevis Football Association 2013 Ordinary Congress held Sunday (Jun. 30) at the Marriott Hotel.
