    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JUNE 14TH 
     The Kittitian-born Director of the largest nursing organisation in the world, will be among several local, regional and international officials attending the Opening Ceremony of the International University of Nursing on Wednesday.
    Dean of the St. Kitts-based International School of Nursing, Dr. Linda A. Simunek, said Director of the London-based Royal College of Nursing in the United Kingdom, Mr. Bernell Bussue, will be among officials from Purdue University, Northern Virginia Community College, Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and Wagner College attending the ceremony which starts at 10:00 A.M. in the spacious auditorium.
     
    Pastor Leroy Benjamin will give the invocation to commence the ceremony, which will be chaired by the International University of Nursing Dean of Student Services, Professor Frank Wagner.
     
    Remarks will be given by IUON President, Mr. Warren Ross; Dean Simunek; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Parliamentary Representative, the Hon. Sam Condor and Founder and Chairman of the Board, Dr. Robert Ross.

    Other invited guests include Chair of the IUON Advisory Board and former Dean of Oklahoma University School of Nursing, Dr. Patricia Forni;  Provost, Northern Virginia Community College, Dr. Charlene Connolly; Dean, Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, Dr. Colleen Conway-Welch; Head, School of Nursing and Associate Dean, Schools of Nursing, Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, Dr. Julie Novak and Chairperson, Department of Nursing, Wagner College, New York City, Dr. Paula Tropello.
     
    Representatives of the United States Embassy in Barbados; Seminole State College, Oklahoma, including Chair of the Board of Regents, Ben Walkingstick Chandler; President, John Utterback and Chairperson, Division of Nursing and Health Science, Nina Kirk.
     
    Also gracing the opening with his presence is the Director of Citibank in Palm beach, Florida, Mr. Lawrence Greenberg, Director, Citibank, Palm Beach, Florida; Alan Weiss of Alan Weiss Productions in New York; Danilo Graham of Laerdal Medical Company and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Gemma Bain-Thomas.
     
    The International University of Nursing in St. Kitts started classes last month following construction of the US$15 million facilities at camps.
     
    The University will offer associate degrees, bachelors degrees and masters degrees in nursing. Under the agreement, the International University of Nursing has an obligation to increase its enrollment to 1500 students over the years.
