BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A pregnant woman and two primary school children were among five individuals taken to the JNF Hospital shortly before 8:00 a.m. this morning (Jul. 8) following a collision on the Island's Main Road to St. Peter's, which sent the vehicle they were travelling in some 85 feet into a bushy area.

SKNVibes spoke with Sergeant Amory of the Traffic Department, who said the accident took place at about 7:50 a.m. and had involved P9989 and PA35.

He informed that P9998 was travelling from the Shadwell roundabout to St. Peter’s while PA35 was exiting the entrance to Shadwell when the vehicles collided.

Amory said there were four occupants in P9998, the driver and three passengers, while PA35 was occupied only by its driver.

He also informed that all of them were taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital.

SKNVibes learnt that the occupants of P9998 were a family unit, which comprised a man, his pregnant girlfriend and two young children.

Reportedly, the front portion of PA35  was “badly damaged” as a result of the accident, while the rear bumper of the other vehicle “ripped off” and its left fender and left door were damaged.

SGT Amory said a further update on the accident would soon be provided.
