BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - JUST days after a new 100 meter national record was set by Kim Collins, budding young sprint star Antoine Adams set a new national record in the 200 metres yesterday (July 7) when won gold at the CAC Games in Mexico.

Adams broke the 12-year-old record held by Collins, which he set in Edmonton, Canada in 2001, with a time of 20.13 seconds pending ratification for the St. Kitts-Nevis Amateur Athletic Association.

Adams was the Federation’s only medallist at the CAC Games.

The Men’s 4x100 metre relay team placed a disappointing fourth, but reports indicate that Jason Rogers suffered an injury while running his leg.

Next up for some of these athletes will be the 2013 IAAF World Championships in Moscow, Russia next month.
