Hot Lineup for August Festival in British Virgin Islands

    International and local artistes set to perform over two exciting weeks

     

    Tortola, British Virgin Islands, July 9, 2013 – The heat is on in the British Virgin Islands with the list of artistes set to perform from the British Virgin Islands and Caribbean Islands for August Festival 2013.

    The official opening of the Ira Oliver Skelton Festiville commences Friday, July 26 with local DJ, Razor Blades, El-A-Kru featuring Tizzy and VI Showtime Band. On Saturday, July 27 festivities are planned for the younger crowd with a Rotary Kiddies Fiesta at 10:30 a.m. at the Queen Elizabeth Park, and our local calypso competition ending the evening with Caribbean Ecstasy. On Sunday, July 28, revelers will head to the waters for a beach bash and boat races on Beef Island featuring music by Volume Band and DJ Turbo.

    Showtime, and Extreme Band take centre stage on Monday, July 29; Tuesday, July 30 Stylee B and VI Showtime perform; Wednesday, July 31 partygoers will head to the village for the Soca Monarch Competition followed by performances by Evolution Band, and Cool Session Brass on August 1.

    The Food Fair kicks off on Friday August 2 at the Noel Lloyd Park with Breakfast at 7am and lunch starting at noon. Festival Village comes alive with a jam pack line up by the Razor Blades, Tony Rebel, Queen Ifrika, KES, Showtime; Saturday, August 3 is the day for sports fans to witness plays between the BVI National Soccer Team vs. Lietsch City F.C. of Basel, Switzerland at the A. O. Shirley Grounds. Lashing Dogs, Richie Spice, Etana, Explainer, Farmer Nappy, Iwer George, and VI Showtime take the stage in the night. 

    On Sunday, August 4 a Freedom March & Emancipation Service takes place at the Sunday Morning Well with the Miss BVI Pageant at 8:00 p.m. sharp at the Multi-Purpose Complex. Village Entertainment includes Latin Band, Final Faze, Pumpa.

    Monday, August 5 is the Rise & Shine Tramp at 4:00 a.m. with a Sunrise Service at the Admin Building. The August Monday Parade leads into village entertainment by Hardcore Band and the opening of East End / Long Look Juliette Penn Festiville, with an opening ceremony to include DJ Bertrum, Tenshun Band, Imagination Brass, and Stylee Band.
