Hon. Shawn K. Richards update nationals in New York

By: Public Relations Office of PAM, Press Release

Basseterre, St.Kitts (July 15th 2013)  --  New York/New Jersey/Connecticut based Nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis were on Sunday, 14th July, 2013, updated on developments taking place in their homeland, during a very well attended and insightful town hall styled meeting by the leader of the People’s Action Movement, (PAM), Hon. Shawn K. Richards.

Richards the Parliamentary representative for Constituency #5 (Sandy Point/Fig Tree) along with Co-Deputy Leader, Jonel Powell, met with Kittitians and Nevisians at the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Parish Hall, 777 East 222nd Street, the Bronx, NY 10467.

The dynamic PAM Leader  was introduced by national Ms Sharon Richards and enlightened the audience on many issues that are confronting the nation. The most significant of these issues at the moment  he explained, are the two Motions of No Confidence that are presently filed against Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas and his minority government.

Richards also focused on the abuse of the electoral system; the corruption and nepotism that he declared  is now rampant in  the country, the use of the police and security forces to intimidate citizens,  and what he termed the latest plot to steal the next elections by gerrymandering the boundaries.

The thousands of citizens that took the streets in anti-government protests came in for high praise from the PAM Leader as well as the large audience as patriotic and brave citizens who have put country first.

The presentations by both Richards and Powell were very well received and was immediately followed by a very vibrant question and answer segment.

From New York, the PAM officials are expected to travel to Canada for a similar meeting, on Wednesday, 17th July, 2013, at St. Pauls, L’Amoreaux, 3333 Finch Avenue East, (At Warden Avenue), Scarborough, Ontario, starting at 7:00pm.

Their final stop on this PAM North American UNITY tour is Miami, Florida on Saturday July 20th at a time and venue to be announced.
