July 19th, 2013 -- Kittitian born Dr. Trecia Arthurton was honored on Friday 12th July in Miami Florida as one of "South Florida's Legacy Magazine 40 Under 40 Leaders of Today & Tomorrow for 2013."
Originally from Ponds Pasture in Basseterre, St.Kitts. Dr. Arthurton migrated to the United States at the age of 11. In 2002 she graduated from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee Florida with aDoctorate of Pharmacy degree.
In 2008 she received her Pharmacy Consultant License. Her professional experience includes Pharmacy Management, Consulting and Long Term Care.
As a Pharmacist, she positively impacts her community through pharmaceutical care education and encourages other young individuals to persevere in the profession. She currently plays a vital role as part of an integrated health care team in which she provides medication review, patient counseling and medical errors prevention.
Important factors in her life are family, friends, church and travelling. She volunteers in several community organizations and ministries, notably “My Future My Choice” an organization that focuses on empowering teenage girls. Trecia defines success as the ability to not only know your life’s purpose but the courage to walk in it.
