    Basseterre, St. Kitts (June 15, 2005): A preparatory seminar for the Caribbean Gift and Craft Show scheduled for Barbados in September, started today at the East Basseterre Community Centre.
    Local artisans, craft vendors, artists, business persons, SEDU staff and craft house representatives are taking advantage of the opportunity to prepare themselves for the event which could lead to highly lucrative linkages. 
     
    The Caribbean Export Development Agency in collaboration with the First Caribbean International Bank is hosting a series of similar export development seminars throughout the Caribbean Region.
     
    Ambassador Plenipotentiary assigned to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Commerce; Ms. Rosalyn Hazelle expressed the view that she had hoped to see even more business people attend this seminar given the fact that the subjects are general topics surrounding entrepreneurship.
     
    They include: building a company image and brand for export; building buyer relationships through trade shows and other marketing activities; analyzing operational effectiveness and Financing and export initiatives, among others.                                        
    Facilitator of the one day seminar is Lisa Callender, consultant with the Caribbean Export Development Agency.
     
    The topics discussed are being positioned in the context of further opportunities in wider global markets
