BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWENTY-TWO employees of Kajola Kristada and 11 of their children have recently successfully completed a number of academic and art courses at the Kajola Kristada School (KKS) 2013.
The graduation ceremony was held on Saturday (July 20) at Kajola’s compound in the presence of co-workers, friends, family members and other well-wishers.
Courses which were offered as part of the 2013 programme were Basic English, Mathematics, Introduction of Excel, Introduction to Computer and Basic Guitar Lessons.
Courses attended by the 22 employees were of a six-week duration while those attended by their children lasted for the entire past academic year.
Completing the Basic English Course were Calvin Richards, Clomel McDowell, Keristyne Hodge, Shauna Pemberton, Telpher Murraine, Tonica Fahie and Venora Francis.
The Mathematics Course was completed by Hodge, Fahie, Blondelle Hanley, Desiree Powell, Hazel Roberts, Jessica Rose, Kenasha Liburd, Natasha Forde, Shauna Pemberton, Teshoy Bridgewater and Kegel Doyling, the only male in that group.
Calvin Richards, Nerissa Wilson, Sheldon Abbott and Valarie Adams were the individuals who took the Introduction to Excel Course.
Blondelle Hanley, Juliana Griffin, Natasha Clarke, Nickeda Rodriguez-Miranda and Shorna Johnson were students in the Introduction to Computer class.
The Basic Guitar Lessons Course was one which catered to the employees’ children, 11 of whom participated. They are Britany Peets, Devonte Liburd, Dimitri Liburd, Jalexcia Matthew, Shamar Pemberton, Shania Smith, Styben Peets, Thayrichx Peets, Trevianna Fyfield, Vanessa Archibald and Vince Archibald.
The participants and all others present were addressed by featured speaker Denzil Crooke who, while reminding of the hardships of failure, provoked thought on the seeds of success which lie within every failure.
Kajola’s General Manager Jose Rosa commended the graduating class for taking their responsibilities “very seriously”, noting that without them the programme would not have been possible.
He said employee development is important at Kajola and encouraged the senior members of the graduating class to urge their co-workers to participate in the programmes, as they would assist in both their professional and personal development.
Special presentations were made by opera singer Daveda Browne and those who completed the Basic Guitar Lessons Course.
All of the successful participants were not present at the ceremony but those in attendance were presented with Certificates of Completion and were extended laudatory comments.
