BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A brighter and more confident smile are two guarantees offered at the Smile Care Dental Clinic, a recently established dentistry which promises to leave customers with whiter smiles.
The Company, owned and operated by Hemalatha Aravind, is located in the Palms Arcade building at the Circus in downtown Basseterre.
Speaking with SKNVibes, Averind gave details of how and why she decided to venture into entrepreneurship.
"I have been in this field of work for about 18 years. I have always loved caring for people's teeth and gums. I had worked for the Nevis Island Administration for nine years - from 2002 until 2010. When I left there I went on to work for a private practise for about two years before opening my own Dental Clinic."
She explained that Smile Care Dental Clinic has been in operation for about one year, having been officially opened in August of last year.
Aravind explained that the main reason for her venturing into her own practise is to serve the people at a reduced cost, as she has seen how costly dental care could get.
"Visiting a dentist can be very expensive. I have seen firsthand how much money people have to spend on oral hygiene and I want to be able to offer that same care at a lesser cost so that more people could afford the proper oral care".
Aravind spoke avidly about the passion she has for tending to her clients' oral hygiene.
The services offered include oral examination, X-rays, cleaning, filling, simple extractions, surgical extractions, partial and complete dentures, crowns and bridges, root canal, sealants and fluoride treatment and veneers.
Students and children are offered a 15 percent discount.
When asked the motivation behind the name of the Clinic, Aravind stated that it is because she cares about her clients' smiles. She also stated that the name serves as an encouragement for persons to seek proper dental assistance, not only when needed but also routine checkups and care.
Aravind further stated that she views one's smile as being very important and that is the driving force behind her practise.
"One thing clients can expect when they enter the doors of my Clinic is to walk out of here with a brighter smile. That is all I want to do...care for people's teeth and gums and leave them with a brighter more confident smile. That is my mission," Aravind told this publication.

The business hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
