BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – JUST hours after news of his selection as the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) candidate for St. Christopher Eight was promulgated, Dr. Terrence Drew made his debut – albeit brief – on the political platform.

He appeared at the SKNLP’s most-recent Rally at Bank Street on Friday (July 26).

Following a greeting in Spanish and before hundreds of cheering individuals, Dr. Drew introduced himself and declared that he is willing, able and ready to reclaim Constituency Number Eight for the SKNLP.

“My name is Dr. Terrance Drew and I’m ready to take Constituency Number Eight for Labour in the next General Elections. For too long Constituency Number Eight had been without representation. Since Cedric Liburd left in 2010 we had a man who did not represent our people, and tonight we are saying we are claiming back Number Eight for Labour. Tell them…that the Labour’s case is straight in Number Eight and we taking it back!”

The Labour representative invited the people of Keys, Kittstodart, Canada Estate and the St. Peters’ area to join him at the St. Peters Community Centre this afternoon (July 28) for a meet and greet and question and answer period.

SKNVibes understands that the session is to enable the constituents of St. Christopher Eight to familiarise themselves with their new SKNLP candidate.

With his hat now in the political ring, Drew will do battle against Eugene Hamilton of the People’s Action Movement who captured the seat in 2010, winning by 33 votes.
