BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A young woman was allegedly caught shoplifting a pair of fashion earrings at a popular Fort Street clothing and accessories boutique on Friday afternoon (July 26).
According to eyewitness reports, the female store owner and the alleged shoplifter got into a verbal confrontation.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that a senior member of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force was present at the scene and spoke to both parties to amicably settle the matter.
Reports also indicate that the alleged shoplifter offered to pay $100 for the stolen earrings but the store owner refused to take any monetary settlement and told the police "no let her go over", purportedly meaning that the police take her to the station.
When contacted for a comment on the alleged incident, Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David informed SKNVibes that he does not report on such "minor" incidents.
